The 915 transaxle bell housing from the 911SC must be modified where it mates with the 964 engine. This modification consists of a removal of a portion of the clutch housing, at about the 2:00 o'clock position when viewed from the shifter end of the transaxle, to clear the DME sensor for the flywheel. After a careful measurement of the area which needs to be cut away (a piece of cardboard can be trial cut to aid in making a template to determine where to remove material and how much material needs to be removed) a hole saw was used to make initial cuts followed up with a hacksaw to complete the removal of material. If care is taken with this method, a neat job can result. A file can be used to dress down traces of the saw cut for a professional appearance.
