1973 911"RS" Look

Modifications to car's original configuration below:

A/C > Removed by PO (No longer avaialable)
Front and rear bumpers and deck lid > Fiberglass TRG for all 3*
Rear flares > Replaced with (real) RS Flares*
Suspension and brakes > See suspension modification list below
Dash gauges > Updated Gauges (Originals gauges in storage)
Seats > Replaced with Later Style, lowered.
Wheels - 6x15 & 7x15 cookie cutters > 7x16 & 8x16 polished Fuchs (Originals available)
16 gal Gas tank > SC 21 gal Tank
No front oil cooler > Carrera oil cooler w/fan (passenger fender well)**
2.4 liter CIS Engine > ' 79 3.1 Liter CIS Engine (the 3.1 factory special)
Oil tank > Orig 73 tank replaced with SC oil tank
Original engine sound pad > Replaced w/ aftermarket silver foil pad
Frankfurt Radio > Modern retro-look AM/FM
5-speed Magnesium 915 > 5-speed Aluminum SC 915 (from '79)
rear fuel pump > front fuel pump
  > Front strut brace*
  > Headlight relay
  > H-4 headlights
  > RS carpet set
  > RS door panels and door release straps
  > Puffy Sun visors replaced with good ones
  > Matching style mirror added to passenger door

* As received from PO (TRG=The RacersGroup)
** Right side battery box removed

Suspension Modifications

  • Raised spindle Bilstein coil-over front struts (but still with torsion bars)
  • Rear HD Bilstein shocks
  • Aluminum (SC) rear trailing arms - (adjustible height/camber)
  • Carrera front brakes/rotors
  • Bump steer ER tie rod drop links with Turbo tie rod ends
  • Aluminum front cross member
  • Adjustible anti-roll bar links front and rear
  • Torsion bar tube stiffening brace brackets welded in
  • A-arm and torsion bar bushings replaced
  • Top front strut mounts replaced with spherical ball mounts from TRG


  • Ashtray interior modified to take iPod or whatever
  • Single Battery - Optima resides in Smuggler's Box
  • Clock replaced with dual CIS WUR pressure/voltmeter combo gauge
Spare parts possibly available as separate purchase
  • Original style dash gauges
  • Recovered dash by Tony Garcia
  • Good front and rear window glasses for replacement purposes
  • New window glass gaskets
  • Numerous other smaller parts (inquire for list)
A few "CONS" (In keeping with my "No Surprises" Policy)
  • Plastic dash cap - looks good but a ratty dash underneath.
  • Head liner could use replacing (some staining)
  • Close inspection shows evidence of repaired bodywork in engine compartment area
  • Front and rear glasses have scratches due to careless sanding from inherited paint job
